MS Word Errors >> Saving files twice without wanting to

I copied files from my old computer to my new one. My word documents now
save twice; for example: Once as the regular name -- Letter --, then like
this "~$tter". How can I stop this?

MS Word Errors >> Saving files twice without wanting to This is normal. The file you are seeing is the "owner" file; it should be
deleted when you close a document. See â??Description of how Word creates
temporary filesâ?? at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=211632
