- Windows XP Support >> Winzip 10.0 QuestionI know how to zip up a group of individual files.
Is there an easy way to zip a set of files in a group of nested folders? In
other words, suppose we have top folder A which holds Subfolders B and C. B
and C each contain a set of files or other folders, etc..
Is there an easy way to have Winzip to roll up all the files continued in
all the nested folders, without having to go into each subfolder and
individually add all the files?

- Windows XP Perform Maintain >> More than four IDE on XP Pro/DVD not readingHello
I'm having problems with my DVD-burner for it doesn't always read disks.
If I boot up and there is no disk on DVD then nothing happens but when there
is a DVD-disk inside then it works OK.
Can this phenomenon be caused of that I have more than 4 IDE devices
attached ?
If so,is there any way to fix it?
3 SATA disks,DVD-burner +2 IDE disks.
Mobo is Asus P4C800-E deluxe and I'm using RAID-1 with 2 SATA-disks.
I have another problem with UltraTX2-card and booting but that's a issue
with Promise,not Windows .
Too many hard disks...

- Windows XP >> bad shortcuts!i have a couple of shortcuts to folders which have become bad. i suspect
they are trying to be shortcuts to folders on my office machine, but the
shortcuts are on my home computer. i think the ip address of the office has
changed and now the shortcuts dont function.
anyway, however they became inoperative, they are so screwed that i cannot
even get rid of them. if i try to right-click to then pick from the
right-click menu the delete, explorer just puts up an hour-glass and locks
or the screen does a quick 'flash' and focus comes off the icon.
is it possible to find the entries in the registry perhaps and kill them
there so they will go away?
thanks.

- Windows XP Security >> MI5 Persecution: Stasi 21/4/96 (16217)Subject: Chief Constable Alderson Condemns "Stasi" MI5
Newsgroups:uk.misc,uk.politics,uk.media,uk.legal,soc.culture.british
Organization: Toronto Free-Net
Summary:
Keywords:
John Alderson, former Chief Constable of Devon and Cornwall, had the
following to say about the expansion of the Security Service's powers, in
a recent magazine article;
"It is fatal to let the secret service into the area of ordinary crime.
MI5 is not under the same restraints as the police. They infiltrate
organisations, people's jobs and lives. They operate almost like a cancer."
"At the moment the acorn of a Stasi [the former East German communists'
secret service] has been planted. It is there for future governments to
build on."
The message is clear. Criminal subversion and criminal harassment by an
unpoliced minority not subject to the law, "infiltration of people's jobs
and lives" is with us today.

Windows XP >> Permission
Use Special or Effective permissions for this, use Deny instead of
Allow, Deny always supersedes Allow.

When accessing some programs on my XP Pro system I am
getting a "you do not have admin rights to open this

XP is fully updated and I have been running both a
firewall (not ZA) and uptodate and regularly used virus
scanner. I have not added or removed any software nore had
a crash when exiting XP.
Any ideas on how to get Admin rights on all files in one
go as no one else uses this sytem but me.

I'll have to download the manual from Netgear's website.

- Windows XP >> registry cleaner screwing up IE7Hi,
I just installed Abexo Registry Cleaner Free, and cleaned up my registry.
My computer is faster (very faster), however, it just chewed up IE's a...
I'd better not say it.
I just reset my browser and it is so annoying. It thinks I'm with AAPT when
we are with a different ISP. It still connects to the internet (thank god),
but I want to make sure that it didn't mess about with my computer. Is there
anyone who had this before?
Thank's in advance.

- Windows XP Setup >> Download.exe not respondingI take an online college class which requires a Shockwave player, however the Download.exe is not responding and I'm unable to download Shockwave. This is a new computer with XP. I've done other downloads on this computer and haven't had any problems. Is there a compatibility issue with XP and Shockwave, or could the problem be elsewhere? I sent the error report but so far nothing has happened.

on top. Sometimes I have to actually minimize each window until the one I
need is the one left maximized. This is really a pain when switching from

me and takes up a ton of time when entering data from one app to another.
PLEASE HELP!
