icons. When he hovers his mouse over he icon, it displays what the

increase this time.
Tried the following:
1) Many articles on how to increase or remove balloon tips. This
doesnt appear to be the same.
2) Updated video card driver.
3) TweakUI (Didnt see anything obvious)

- Windows XP Support >> sleep awake does not show icons, only backgroundThis is WinXP pro, with all updates applied. When the system display has
gone to sleep and a key is pressed, the background appears but no icons. The
only keys that work are ctl/alt/del. It then shows the icons and the task
manager window. After canceling the task manager window the system seems to
work properly. The system is protected by PCCilian and router firewall.
When I tried to do a repair install using the XP CD, it said the system was
a later version than the CD and did not want to run.
I hope someone has some idea how to eliminate the problem.

- Windows XP Perform Maintain >> Help? Files and Settings transfer wizard questionHello All,
On a regular basis, I use the File & Settings transfer wizard to back up my
settings to a "slave back up drive" in my desktop computer.
Well, my primary drive crashed last week, and now I've replaced it with a
new one, and reloaded XP, along with all my old programs, and all my saved
files that I regularly back up to my slave drive. So now I want to also go
to my slave drive and migrate my old settings that I've saved, onto the new
drive, just like everything else I had backed up and successfully migrated
onto the new hard drive.
So I go to the folder where the settings are stored on the slave drive to
make sure they are there, I can see two files, one named IMG00001.DAT (it's
1.3GB in size), and also a file named "status" it's only 1KB in size.
Now, I open the File and Settings transfer wizard, follow the commands,
then, I get to a question where the wizard asks me something like "where do I
want to retrieve my settings from", so I point the wizard to the folder where
I've saved them at on my slave drive.......
Then, after I hit next, I constantly get an error box that tells me the
following:
"The location that you specified does not contain stored information. Please
type a valid folder path into the edit box.....If you entered a path to a
folder on a removable disk, the disk must be in the drive."
And I can't get past that error message.....I've tried copying the settings
I've saved from my slave drive, onto my new primary drive, and then tried
pointing the wizard to that location thinking that maybe the saved settings
had to be on the primary drive for the wizard to retrieve them, but that
didn't work either.
So I'm stuck, How do I get my old settings migrated onto my new hard drive?
Any help is appreciated, and thanks much in advance.

The system configuration is as follows:
Asrock K7S8XE Mainboard
AMD Athlon XP+ 3200 (200 FSB)

Windows XP >> Sell a previously activated copy of XP
Can you sell a full retail version of Windows XP if you are no longer using
it on the original computer? I have retired a computer that I installed XP
home on and bought a new machine with XP pro pre-installed on it. Can I sell

Windows XP >> Sell a previously activated copy of XP
You certainly can. Retail versions can be transferred legally. Keep in mind
that the thing of value that you are selling is the Product Key, not the
disk! The purchaser will have to activate the XP on their own computer, but
this can be done over the Internet.

Yes. You must transfer the CD, any documents, certificate of
authenticity, and most importantly the Product Key. If I were buying I
would ask for a certificate that it has been removed from the previous
machine, too. The new owner then installs, and When it comes to
activation, may find it will go through on the net anyway - if more
than 120 days since you last did it certainly will. If not, he will
have to phone a toll-free number that will be given, to explain and swap
one long number for another to check back as he types it in

Yes, you can - unless it's an OEM copy, in which case the license is 'tied'
to the old hardware. However, you mention that you installed it, so it's
more likely you have a retail license. Those can be transferred.

Yes. Provided you have removed it from the old machine, you may sell a
retail copy on, provided you include all materials, Product Key and Cert
of Authenticity. On install, when it comes to activation, if it is more
than 120 days since you last did it, the new owner will find it will go
through on the net just like first time. If not, he will have to phone

- Windows XP >> Youre Not On Mute, You KnowI am a multitasker. That is why I love the mute button when on a
conference call in my home. It allows me to get a few small tasks
done, let my dog in and out of the house and keep a running commentary

I say things like;
"I agree."
"I'm with you."
"You're right."
Sometimes I say things like:
"That can't be right."
"Well, I wouldn't put it that way."
"I don't agree with you."
Such was the case the other night, while on a conference call.
However, I started to notice something different about this call. As
always, I said a few words when I got on and immediately put myself on
mute. Then it seemed as if there were technical difficulties. The host
sounded as if he was speaking in a tunnel. I thought that strange but
things happen. The call became stranger. In my running commentary, to
myself, I would ask questions that it seemed the host anticipated. I
thought, " Wow. This guy is really great. He anticipates any question
someone could ask."
Finally, in trying to drive home his point, he made an analogy
involving a first car. He said, "Imagine your first car. It's a stick
shift with a clutch and you drive it to the top of a hill and then
what happens?"
I answered, on mute, "Well, obviously, you start to slide back down
the hill."
The host laughed," You could do that but no, you would floor the gas."
Then I knew. The most horrible sensation washed over me.
"I am not on mute, am I?"
"No, you are not on mute."
This whole time, on the conference call, as my unfiltered thoughts are
spouting out of my mouth, people from all across the nation are
