If the router has multiple LAN ports, connect each computer to one of
the ports.

If the router only has one LAN port, buy a network switch, connect it
to the router's LAN port, and connect the computers to the switch.

Windows XP Network >> Broadband connection in office network thanx for the response steve
My router has just one lan port and I already have a switch to which I have
connected the router and all the other computers. My problem is that one pc
gets connected to the net but how do I confugure other pc's since all are
confugured to get ip addresses automatically.

You're welcome, Pavan. Every home broadband router that I've seen has
a built-in DHCP server that can assign IP addresses to multiple
computers. In that case, "get ip address automatically" is the right
setting on all of the computers.

What's the make and model of your router? Are you sure that it's a
router? If it's just a DSL modem, you'll have to replace the switch
with a router to give IP addresses to multiple computers.
