I have the opposite problem. i want to remove microsoft
word/excel/powerpoint document from the new menu. i am able to disable/
enable any template except these three. if i disable them and click
apply (in powertoys tweakui), the check marks blink and comeback on. if
i delete them, they are appearing again back in 2 seconds. how can i
remove them?

customize >> remove microsoft...document from right click > new menu Paste these in Start | Run one at a time and click OK...

%Userprofile%\Templates

%Allusersprofile%\Templates

%Systemroot%\ShellNew

Then look for MS Office files.

Also see these...

Add items to the New menu (aka ShellNew entries)
