Windows XP Network >> Connects to Internet... But Cannot Ping, Browse, etc. I'm able to establish a connection to my ISP using a dial-
up w/ internal modem. However, I can't seem to take any
outgoing actions (ping, browse web, etc). For example,
ping 'cannot establish connection' and IE 6 gives me a DNS
error. Considering all was fine before upgrading (and
suggested patches), I'm not entirely sure where to start
looking. Any suggestions?

thanks.

Brian,

check the settings in the dial-up connection, particularly the
DNS settings. Actually there should be none.

For a test, try to create an entirely new connection and use
that.
