- Windows XP >> Printing Wizard for imagesHello,
I tried to look for a previous answer to my question without success. I
apologize if this issue was already brought up.
When printing an image (jpg, bmp, etc...) in Windows XP Home there is a
printing wizard window that comes up. At some point, the window displays
thumbnails of previously printed images. These thumbnails keep on increasing
as I print new images. It's slowly down the system and i am not able to get
rid of them. How do you clear these thumbnails from the Printing Wizard?
Thank you for your help.

My brother is having trouble with his DELL Dimension 5150. on start-up he

with a blue screen and the following message:

(file): \SystemRoot\System32\Config\Software or it's log alternative. It
is corrupt, absent or not writable.

Well that's the entire message so can anyone please advise me how to fix

- Windows XP >> Windows Media Player 9Whenever I try to open my media player I get the "An
internal application error has occured" message. (There
is no error number on the message) This started about a
week ago and I haven't been able to figure it out or find
any help yet. While surfing the net looking for help I
discovered that many others are having this exact same
problem. Some of these people were able to resolve their
problem by downloading windows script from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?
FamilyID=c717d943-7e4b-4622-86eb-
95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en . That didn't work for me.
Many of the others with this problem said they had a
virus, but I scan every day for viruses and haven't found
any viruses. I've tried system restore, uninstalling and
reinstalling WMP9, and everything else I could think of.
Any help would really be appreciated!!! My email is
above. Thanks.

Windows XP >> Win XP + Win ME + Win 98 Triple Boot
I don't know where ME would fit in here (and wonder why you WANT it..?) But
here's the results of my research before I set my dual-boot system up. I
have some problems internal to XP, but they have nothing to do with my dual
boot setup which works perfectly. My best guess n ME is that it should go
in between Linux and XP in the following sequence:
You need to have w98 on C:, and install that
first. If you have to use an SE upgrade disk, do ALL of that first, before
installing XP on D:.
I went back to do the SE upgrade _after_ I put on XP and the W98 system got
blue-screen fatal errors every time I shut down (there's also an SE shutdown
patch that some systems need, making all this even more complicated).
If you also want Lynix, you need to do THAT on C:, W98 on D; and XP on E:.
That's the sequence I've been told to use, and everything works just fine
that way.
I still run all the partitions on fat32, but converting the XP partition to
NTFS after XP install (which I did in one install) seems to work fine, too.
Summed up install sequence: Linux; W98 [SE upgrade]; then XP. Wait 'til
it's all done before converting to NTFS.

- Windows XP Support >> Windows reboots itself over and over before windows logo can appeaHi everyone,
Has anyone had this problem? This is the first time I have encountered this.
My computer will be booting up, and right when it is about to go into the
Windows XP loading screen, there will be a brief flicker of a blue screen
(like a fraction of a second), but then the computer will automatically
restart itself and begin the process again. It gives me the option to start
the computer normally, start with the last known good configuration, or start
up in safe mode (with/ without networking), it doesn't matter which option I
choose, the outcome is always the same -- it reboots itself.
Any ideas??

- Windows XP Security >> Moving the "My Documents" folder after group policy is setHeres my problem. I have a user on a laptop and the group policy for the

Thats totally fine for users who are always on the network. But for laptop
users i want to change the settings on those computwer to make the "My
documents" folder local.
When i right click on My documents i can see where the My documents folder
is but i can't change it to a new location. I also don't get the move button
either.
I don't want to play with the setting on the server because for the most
part they work. So Any ideas how to change that setting just for one user
and only on his laptop?
I know i could just make a local profile and i will if nessasary, but hes
already used his computer with the network profile and has preferences there.
Thanks in advance

- Windows XP Security >> Security help in XPI've deployed and upgraded my client's workstation to XP Pro. Its not

to a domain server and it is stand-alone for now. The client wants to
achieve the
following:
a) Create a folder that has many sub-folders, but no users (except for
Administrators)
to delete any file or folder
b) Users are allowed full access to printers, scanners, driver install, etc.
I use Power Users as the group for the users. I created the folder in a) and
limited the
deletion of files to Administrators only. However, I found out that by doing
so, the
user are not able to rename folders such as in the case when they create a
new sub-folder.
How do you overcome this?
I added Load and Unload drivers in the Local Security polices to include
Power Users.
But they are still unable to view installed printers/scanners. How do I
overcome this?
Thanks for any help in advance.
