Windows XP >> xp and old office question I bought an old unopened version office95 years ago and now my son needs a
word processor on his pc. He doesn't have an internet connection so download
abiword or open office isn't a solution. I was wondering if I could load the
office 95 (or just word) on his xp machine ??
thanks

I think you mean Office 97? Wasn't Office 95 Mac-only? Why not just have
a friend download OpenOffice for you and burn to cd?

Windows XP >> xp and old office question Older versions of office work fine on XP. If he doesn't have internet access
than it won't prompt him for any updates :-)

It'll install and work, although some of the bullets in Word have been
reported to be problematic. (They don't look quite right, from what I
understood.)

No, it was Office 98 that was designed exclusively for the MAC. And,
just for the trivially minded, the full, "proper" name for "Office 95"
was actually "Office for Windows 95."
