does someone know how to configure xp home to clean boot
to the desk top. IE auto boot through password page and
screen name page.

Ya this should help. Download Tweakui. It is a program
from microsoft that lets you edit settings you otherwise
cannot including login bypass!. As well as some other
things you may find interesting. Info/download avail @ http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/tweakui. But first if
its a single user pc go into control panel>user accounts
and disable all acounts but yours.

Run "control userpasswords2" and uncheck the box that says users have to
logon. Then click Apply and enter the account you want auto-logged.
