Windows XP Support >> Windows Explorer will not start, closes system tray and then resta Hi,

I have been looking for a repair to my XP machine for over a week now :(
Not found anything that relates to my problem, so I hope someone has the
answer.

When I click on 'My Computer' or 'Control Panel' my Start bar disappears and
then restarts but no error message, or explorer/control panel.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Preinstalled machines sometimes have little in the way of a repair feature
without restore to 'factory defaults' and restore from the recommended backup.

You might try running SFC /SCANNOW, or perhaps the :
