Windows XP >> Unexpected shutdown in XP Has anyone run into this problem? XP randomly will "shut
down". Computer will power off completely, (no reboot)
and require a cold boot to get back up. I can't seem to
find the cause. Can anyone help? Thx much

Windows XP >> Unexpected shutdown in XP it really could be anything, but i'm thinking overheating
or a ram issue.

do you get error messages? bsods?

check your temps to see if your cpu is overheating. you
might have the cpu thermal protection enabled in the bios,
forcing your computer to shutdown.

you could perhaps also check to make sure your hardware is
working properly, e.g. the power supply. make sure the fan
is working and the rails are within limits.

Windows XP >> Unexpected shutdown in XP Another thing you can check is your event logs (Control Panel-?Admin
Tools->Event Viewer) . This should help to determine if a program is
causing this.
