Windows XP Support >> Blue Screen Error Hi

When I turn on the PC in the morning, quite often (but not always) I get a
blue screen error as follows:

0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF8E07ACD, 0xF964EDC4, 0xF964EAC0)

I am running XP home and service pack 2 has been installed for ages. The
blue screen messages have become mopre frequent as of late for some reason.

Can you help?

Thanks - Alan Holmes

Windows XP Support >> Blue Screen Error Sorry, I don't understand. Do you mean install it again? if so, how would
this fix the problem.

Windows XP Support >> Blue Screen Error It's pretty obvious you have "lost" some file(s) that need replacing.
Re-install with the cd and choose "repair" when the choice presents
itself. The cd will drop the missing files back into place, shuffle
things around and repair.

You could also wade around in the above link to check out the errors
that you are getting. :-)
good luck, Alan H.

Windows XP Support >> Blue Screen Error Alan

Please check Event Viewer for Warning / Error Reports in the System and
Application logs for the error occurs and post copies.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, and
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&sd=tech

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you should
double click for further information. You can copy using copy and paste.
Often the link will, however, say there is no further information.
http://go.microsoft.com/fw.link/events.asp
(Please note the hyperlink above is for illustration purposes only)

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click
on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now
start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This
will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links
into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event
Viewer.

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties. Hardware,
Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Try Start, Run, type "sigverif.exe" without quotes and hit OK. What drivers
are listed as unsigned? Disregard those which are not checked.

Hope this helps.

Windows XP Support >> Blue Screen Error Just for infro Gerry, whilst I was doing what you said, the eventual path
took me to Microsofts website (there are links after you click the properties
of the error in event manager) where there was advice on deleting a specific
registry key relating to Real Player. I deleted the key, booted the PC and it
seems fine. Thanks dude.......

Windows XP Support >> Blue Screen Error Alan H... Would you, by any chance, remember the Real Player file you
deleted from your Registry? I think I might have the same problem. Thank you
for any help.
