- Windows XP MovieMaker >> Possible to save a trimmed clip?Is it possible to save a clip after it has been edited. I
want to be able to save the new smaller clip to be used
again in another movie. Currently MM@ seems to keep all
the information which I already have in the original
capture. Ideally, I would like to make smaller edited
clips and save them in a collection.
Thanks in advance.

- Windows XP Setup >> HijackedUsing Internet Explorer and running Windows XP Pro with Webroot Spy Sweeper
and MCAfee for virus detection.
Spy Sweeper shows my system to be clean and McAfee donâ??t indicate any
problems, But about 19 out of 20 attempts to connect to any thing on the
internet are getting hijacked to a Chinese Language version of Yahoo.
Obviously what I have isnâ??t working.
I have encountered some major problems from just blindly trying out these
sort of downloads (More difficult to get them off the computer than a virus)
If some one has experience with a legitimate program that works better than
what I have, I would appreciate their recommendation.

- Windows XP Perform Maintain >> USER created folders: size or space RESTRICTION?I ask because I created a folder and entered 22,608 items compromising
1,591.85MB. (1.5 GB mol)
I have an additional 1,165 items compromising 80.79MB which will NOT move or
copy in 'normal windows' or 'safe mode' with "Explorer' or 'ThumbsPlus'.
I then copied the 1,165 to a CD and tried copying to the folder under:
'normal windows', 'safe mode' using; Explorer'/'ThumbsPlus.
ERROR on EVERY attempt: "*The directory or file cannot be created*".
OS: XP Pro FAT32
HD: Maxtor 160GB [6Y160PO]
Partitions: 4 @ 40GB each (38.1/5 actually - I think)
Free Space Availabe on attempted drive: 27.4GB
Defragmentd attempted drive: yes
Ran chkdsk on attempted drive: yes; with no problems reported.
Properties for both folders I attempted to . . move from (which I also
created) report: Read Only [Green-SQUARE] Archive [CHECKED].
I did NOT choose those options when I created the folders and Windows will
NOT allow me to leave all boxes--- unmarked/unchecked.
HOW and WHY has a restriction been imposed on folders I created???

- Windows XP Network >> After installing sp2 on XP Home, My network dosnt work!!I realised that this could be a problem for many people, since the
introduction of service pack 2. I have been trying to find a soultion for
this problem for many months now, but have finally found something that
worked! Feel free to use the instructions below if you are suffering the same
problems!
You need to use you Registry editor, which may sound a bit scary, but is
quite easy to use if you follow these instructions:
Click START,
Click on RUN
In the text box enter REGEDIT, and click OK,
The registry editor should open,
Click on the cross next to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Then go to SYSTEM
Then go to CONTROL
Then Select LSA
In the right hand screen you should see some icons appear,
Find the two that say restrict anonymous, and double click on them both.
You need to change both their value datas to 0
Once you have done this, Exit the registry editor, by clicking the cross,
and then RESTART your computer!
You should find that this solves the problem, Whatever the outcome, let me
know!!

- Windows XP Hardware >> Pioneer DVD-Rom And LG CD ReWriter Problem Please Help!!!For about 2 years I have had this PC with XP home
edition. It has a Pioneer DVD-ROM (PIONEER DVD 113) and
an LG CD ReWriter (HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8160B) both have
worked perfectly. Yesterday I reinstalled XP and it
picked up all of the devices perfectly. Today neither of
the drives are appearing in my computer or WMP. I tried
reinstalling the drivers for them several times using the
Device Manager. I get the same problem everytime. I Get
the following message:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this
hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code
39)"
What am I supposed to do? I have looked for the drivers
for both drives on the web and have downloaded them and
installed them. No matter what I do nothing helps. Does
any one have anything that can help me! Could you E-Mail
me at this Address please. Thanks For Your Help!

Windows XP Perform Maintain >> Slow launch of applications
Clean install of Windows XP Home Edition.
Clicking on a document (e.g. a Word document, or Excel
document) launches the application, but it takes over 30
seconds! Same with clicking on a link from Outlook, or
selecting a document from the Recent Documents submenu of
the Start menu.
Launching an application by clicking on its icon works
fine. Opening a document from within an application
works fine.
Anyone know what's up?

- Windows XP >> Windows Media Player and Canon i550 Printer crashesI very often encounter a problem while using my Windows
Media Player. The sound totaly disconnect if I open a new
software such as Word or Excel and even if I open
Internet Explorer.
As well, my Canon i550 Printer crashes often but not all
the time, when trying to print something.
In both cases, I get a message from Windows asking me if
I want to register the problem. I do not why they ask me
this since they never got back to me with a solution.
I have also spent $30.00 for on a PC Doctor On Call
software hoping that it would solve the problem. In vain.
Can anyone please help me and tell me how to rectify this
annoying situation?
Thanks

- Windows XP >> LIVE UPDATEI have Symantec Norton Internet Security 2004. My live
update shows a red X and tells me to try again later, this
was a day or so ago but it will still not update my
security settings. It tells me to re-install Live
Update. I know how to remove this by add/remove, but do
not know how to reinstall live update on its own. The
information book that comes with Norton shows how to
reinstall the whole package, by disc, but the message
states just re-install Live Update. Please help.

- Windows XP Perform Maintain >> Maximum Program Run sizeHello
Does anyone know if I can increase the maximum program
size without increasing physical memory.
I try to run a .exe which bring up "Program Too Big for
Memory" message.
I have been into DOS and carried out mem cmd, and it says
the maximum program size is about 613 MB. The program I
want to run is about 630MB. Is there a tweak I can make
to run this program? Although it is an .exe, it will an
unzip program. Once unzipped, I can work with it easily.

- Windows XP >> ACCESS DENIED \\*computer name here* is not accessible. You may...I have 4 computers on my network. All of them are desktop computers. They are
connected through a linksys router and have worked fine for quite a while.
One day, one of the computers just dissapeared from the network. It was then
labled *network path not found* even though the workgroup view still sees the
computer.
This is not the problem that I am asking about however.
Later, after I had to redo another one of our computers, the network
automatically found all the computers in the workgroup view. It could only
connect though to 1 of the computers. The most stable out of the computers,
not redone at all, was working fine and all the 3 computers could
communitcate (except for the prob discribed above) with each other. Then,
when I noticed the folder for the main computer was gone, I opened the
workgroup view and clicked on the computer. Now, I get the following errors
for each pc.
PC 1 error: \\*name* s not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact the adminsistrator of this server to find out
if you have access permissions.
The network path was not found.
(end of error 1)
PC 2 error: \\*name* s not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact the adminsistrator of this server to find out
if you have access permissions.
Access is Denied.
(end of error 2)
I have no idea what is wrong. Usually the network automatically fixes itself
when the access denied problem arises, but it hasent yet at all. And the
network path lost error has been around for quite a while for me now. How do
I fix these problems?
Thanks in advance,
Nick
