Windows XP Perform Maintain >> sfc /purgecache doesnt work Hi ,

When I ran sfc with /purgecache switch I've got an error "Windows File
Protection could not purge the file cache. The specific error code is
0x00000005 [Access is denied]." My user account is a member of the
Administrators group. Any thoughts?

regards,

Erim

That does not necessarily mean you have access to the cache folder.
Cache folder (dllcache folder) is located in Drive:\Windows\system32

Try taking ownership of this folder and see if purging works.
