Windows XP >> directions needed I used to have (i think it's called a quick-launch) button on the blue bar at
the bottom of XP. It was a yellow folder called 'ROOT' and when i clicked
once on it it would open the folder in explorer. Unfortunately it started
causing problems and i had to delete it . Now i want to set it up again but
can't figure out how i did it first time round. Anyone?

This is not part of XP. Perhaps you just made a new toolbar with the
folder. "Root" is not a Windows term so it is something you yourself
created or you were using some sort of third-party software/toolbar.

Windows XP >> directions needed Yes that's what i must have done. 'ROOT' is my created folder and somehow i
managed to place a yellow folder icon on the blue bar at the bottom of XP.
Only i try to do it again but can't get that same effect. if r.click on the
blue bar, and use 'new toolbar' to pick the folder E:\ROOT it creates an
icon with two tiny arrows which then open the ROOT folder. But this was not
how i had it . i had a big yellow button with the word 'ROOT' and no arrows.

The "big yellow button" certainly doesn't sound like something you
created natively in Windows unless you made the new toolbar and applied
your own custom icon. I would think you'd remember doing that, no?
Perhaps you just made a shortcut to the folder and then put the shortcut
on your Quick Launch bar and then applied a custom icon. There's no way
for anyone else but you to know. Sorry.
