Can't remotely access SQL server from other machines

After discussions on the SQL forums, they recommend I as the question here in

the XP area. I have a SQL 2005 Server setup on my home machine, XP Prof SP2.

I have tried everything to be about to access it from my laptop, but get

access denied. I can access the SQL server on my Laptop from my desktop, and

laptop is XP PROF SP2. I have essentially made both Sql servers the same

configurations. It was thought there must ge something haywire with my

desktop with file sharing. I shared the Sql server folder, but still no

allowance to "Guest" access. I can access the server using SQL Auth, instead

of windows Auth. I just need to be pointed into the right direction
