Slow XP Pro Anyone else?

Windows XP Perform Maintain >> Slow XP Pro Anyone else? Hello to anyone else experiencing the same problems I
am. I'm running Windows XP Pro SP1 and have all the
critical updates installed and find that now my computer
takes like 10 minutes to load any software programs, it
does not matter which ones either, Word, Disk
Defragmenter (which I run frequently 2 to 3 times a week)
and any other programs. I can almost go eat dinner and
then come back and the program(s) will then all the
sudden come up? Was wondering why such a delay, with a
good working hard drive and all equipment working
perfectly? Thanks if anyone finds an answer to this
puzzling problem? Will check the CPU usage but it hasn't
been high normally either?

The problem reside with all those updates. some will slow
PC to a crawl. Do a search on the ones you have install
on microsoft website.
