- Windows XP MovieMaker >> MM2 Remote Desktop ConnectionHi Group,
i just noticed a bug in MM2
If you try to use MM2 using the remote desktop connection you get an error
message thats says MM2 cannot be used with remote/terminal connections.
But, if you leave MM2 running on the desktop.. then connect to the system
using remote connection. MM2 is running and you are able to open projects and
save movie files.
i am unsure of further functions such as titles/transitions and such...

- Windows XP Setup >> XP freexesMy system runs XP Pro with SP2. recently it has started freezing after it
has booted. Sometimes it won't re-boot when I use the re-set button on the
front of the tower so i have to disconnect and re-connect the power supply,
and then boot up as normal. Sometimes it won't boot up from then. Over the
weekend i tried a clean install from my XP CD (not OEM), and when it got to
the part where it say 'startup is loading windows' it freezes, and that's it.
Can anyone help please?

- Windows XP Support >> Xp hardware question about monitors.Hi all,
I am running windows XP with sp2 installed with a NVidia geforce 440 AGP8x.
Now the trouble I am having is that the hardware profile for my PC is
showing 2 monitors installed and the video card has options for both. Now I
only have one monitor installed and I have tried deleting one from the list,
un-installing it from the hardware profile, but after a reboot there are 2
again.
they are listed as default monitor and plug and play monitor.
The plug and play one is the one that the card is using as monitor 1 so I
tried the uninstall of the default be it came back.
I tried disabling it and when I call up my display properties I still get
options for resolution etc for 2 monitors.
I have an onboard graphics chip but I have it fully disabled and uninstalled.
monitor 1 is a proview/emc/pts em-175 this is the one windows is using and
is listed as plug and play monitor in my hardware listing.
monitor 2 is listed as TV in the nvidia software. If I select this as my
view type the monitor goes into power save mode and I have to hit escape to
get back.
The second listed monitor in the hardware listing is know as default monitor.
I have nividia set to a single display set up so why is windows display
properties allowing me to select resolutiuons etc for 2 monitors? in there it
doesn't list TV it lists the Plug and play which I use and is set to 32bit
1024 x 768. listing 2 is the default monitor and won't go any higher than 800
x 600 32 bit.
these are the listings for the drivers for both.
PnP microsoft driver version 5.1.2001.0
DISPLAY\PTS0304\5&152B52D&3&11335577&01&00
default microsoft driver 5.1.2001.0
DISPLAY\DEFAULT_MONITOR\5&152B52D&3&113377A1&01&00
can anyone help me get rid of this "default monitor" from my hardware
listing so that Windows doesn't see that I have 2 and so my video card only
has set up for one monitor?
Thnx
Iceman

- Windows XP Security >> remote accessI was scanning around inside the heart of my computer

- Windows XP Network >> 2 or more routers on the same home networkI currently have 2 computers installed on my wired network, and am looking at
adding two more. One of those two is a laptop which belongs to my brother in
law, who lives in another part of this very large house. What I would like to
do is to run a cable from the wired router to the wan port of a wireless
80211 g router in his area of the house, and install a wireless card in his
laptop, and let him roam wherever he wants to go.
Is it possible to daisy chain a router to another router, or would I have to
get rid of my wired router and buy some network range expansion hardware?

Make sure that your RAM module is properly inserted. Also make sure that CPU
cooling is effective.

Windows XP Setup >> Continous Reboot Problems
I don't think that that is the problem. I will investigate, but I am allowed
to boot from the CD-ROM, delete and repartition the hard drive, from the
partition, load all of the initial setup files, and then XP indicates that it
is going to reboot in 15 secs on I can press enter and then the entire
process starts over... And idea?

- Windows XP Perform Maintain >> Disk Cleanup ProblemI accidentally deleted things in More Options/Windows Components part of Disk
Cleanup. I lost my Wordpad and Games part of the Accessories & Utilities. I
also no longer have the volume control icon in my taskbar! I am not sure yet
what other things are missing. I can't find a list of what is supposed to be
there - after many hours of looking on websites. I can't do a system restore
because I also deleted all prior restore points! I am so mad at myself for
this ridiculous error as I always create a new restore point when doing
things on the computer! Is there anyway I can recover these lost components?
I have installed the Service Pack 2 so I don't think I can just put my
Windows XP Home CD in my puter and recover those programs or can I? I have
ordered the Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 CD but that takes 4-6
weeks to arrive. Any help will be much appreciated.
