Windows XP >> usb unknown MS Tech,
Unable to use my USB Prodrive on XP Home, It is a Dick
Smith 64M Prodrive Which connects to the front USB ports
of my computer, Have had a lot of problems getting things
to go in the USB ports. Can you give me any leads of where
I can look for this problem? I am led to believe USB only
needs to pluged in to work, It should detect itself, It
does detect it but it is classified UNKNOWN, Also
Unrecognised, I have loaded the drivers that came with it.
Thanking you in advance for your reply.
Best Regards
Wayne
PS Had problems getting scanner working, Lexmark X73
Have just d/loaded drivers for Kodak Camera DX3600 not
sure if this will work or not, all USB devices.

Windows XP >> usb unknown There seems to be many people having problems with USB "front" ports.
Have you tried the device in a rear port?

Also have you tried going to device manager and deleting all entries
under USB (Universal Serial Bus Controlers) and rebooting to reinstall
them. That often solves the problem.
