Windows XP Setup >> Local settings folder Why does my 'Local settings' folder keep defaulting to 'Hidden'. I change
it and all sub folders and files to non-hidden but they go back to hidden.
Thanks

Windows XP1

Because that's the way Windows wants it.

Windows XP Setup >> Local settings folder Hi,

Because it is a designated system folder whose attributes you cannot alter.

Windows XP Setup >> Local settings folder It doesn't want to hide it from you, it wants to keep the casual user from
trying to mess with the system folder set and screwing up the installation.
A measure of protecting the user from himself.
