Windows XP Network >> Networking file structure I'm thinking of improving the file structure of my
network, my first issue is the saving location Windows
uses, Windows defaults most of the time to the My
Documents folder on the users PC, I want every user to
save on the server as default, so when they save a new
word doc, for example, the save dialog box shows the
server drive location and their personal folder on the
server. If anyone can help me that would be great, the
server uses SBS windows 2000, the workstations are all Win
XP.

Windows XP Network >> Networking file structure Word and most of the other basic office applications allow for you to
set the default location that you want to save files in. You can set the
applications to point to this folder all the time which should help you
in this request. You can also set the home directories in your login
scripts.
