Windows XP >> Desktop
I redid my buddys wifes computer with xp and within one
day she has messed up the desktop. When you save
something to the desktop it goes into the folder but does
not display on the desktop. Please help she is driving me
insane.

One thing to check...
Right-click on the desktop, click ARRANGE ICONS BY|SHOW DESKTOP ICONS
