Windows XP >> Process killing program What is the name of the ms program (or location) that analyzes current
processes and allows some to be killed so that the files can be deleted?

I'm trying to get rid of some *.dll files associated with a virus that are
currently running (in safe mode). They don't show up on the task manager.

I know there is some sort of windows program that can kill them.

Do you know what it is?

Thank you.

Windows XP >> Process killing program This will not kill them, but you can see what's loaded.

Open System Information...
Start | Run | Type: msinfo32 | Click OK |
Click the [+] next to Software Environment |
Click on Loaded Modules

You need a 3rd party program to kill them. Oops, not 3rd party anymore,
Microsoft bought SystemInternals.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Windows XP >> Process killing program if they are dll's and are loaded
in safe mode as well, you should
probably do a sfc /scannow

its likely you removed the virus,
but the system files may have been
corrupted, hence the possible problem
you are experiencing....
