Windows XP Security >> Critical Updates I just noticed 9 Critical Updates for Win XP. If I am not mistaken, the total
is about 8MB. Why does MS 'lump' all their downloads for download at one
time? For those of us with 'dial-up,' it really is time consuming and a chore
to download these Critical Updates. Isn't there the slightest possibility
that MS could spread these downloads out, so they are not all 'lumped'
together for one download? Or doesn't MS consider that there are those of us
who are using 'dial-up' services?

Just my thoughts.

If you want that control, quit using the automatic updates and visit
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com after the second Tuesday of each month
and choose what you wish to install..

Or change your automatic updates to notify but not download/install without
your approval.

Sometimes - you just have to do some things for yourself if you want them
done a certain way...
