Windows XP Network >> Upgrade from ME produces no internet and no soundcard Hi,

After years of insisting that my Windows ME was just fine to get me what I
needed, I broke down and upgraded after finding out that my school sold XP
pro for $5.
Anyways, the installation was fine, except that now I cannot access the
internet and it says that my soundcard is not installed, though both worked
perfectly with ME.
When I try an autofix with the network (my apartment's T1 line), it
recognizes the server but says that it cannot get the server to send my
computer a new IP address.

Any suggestions?

Windows XP702

Did you update the drivers for the NIC and sound card?

Upgrades to XP tend to go more smoothly than upgrades to any earlier
versions of Windows, but they aren't foolproof - clean installs are always
better. That said, get the correct XP driver for your sound card and network
adapter from the device manufacturer's websites, install them in device
manager, and see how it goes.
