Getting error message cannot find <path...>Explorer.exe in XP

Windows XP135
I'm running XP on an old Compaq Deskpro SFF EN. I get a dialog box at

startup that says:

Cannot find C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web

Folders\Explorer.exe

There don't appear to be any problems with my install (at least, not in

the basic OS capabilities, Windows Explorer, etc.) I've got my normal

desktop, Start menu, startup programs running, etc.

What could cause this error message, and what are the possible other

implications of whatever problem is causing it?

Thanks!

Melissa

Re:Getting error message cannot find <path...>Explorer.exe in XP

Click Start>Run>Type msconfig>Go to Startup tab>

Uncheck the entry that is using the path C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft

Shared\Web Folders\Explorer.exe

You will find the path in Command column. If you want to run the app that is

using the path :

1.Note the Location (In location Column of Startup tab)

2. Open Regedit (Start>Run)

3. Go to the key that is listed in the first step (Location column)

4. Double click the name of the application.

5. Add " (quotes) to start and end.
