Windows XP Perform Maintain >> Standard Recovery System I have the recovery CD's and wish to do a standard restore which is a
non-destructive recovery for recovering factory-shipped programs, drivers and
operating system without affecting data files.What is there to look out for
trap wise and I have since replaced the Cd with a DVD does that need to be
replaced first back to original.

Windows XP Perform Maintain >> Standard Recovery System Recovery CDs will erase your entire hard disk and reinstall the software
that was installed at the factory. Anything you don't backup --
including your data files -- will be permanently deleted.

Windows XP Perform Maintain >> Standard Recovery System Leonard, I understand that and its what i want to do, but do i need to put
back the original CD writer i got with the machine or will the DVD writer i
put in work ok with the discs. Any traps to look for, i am not that much into
computer knowledge

Windows XP Perform Maintain >> Standard Recovery System Recovery CDs are proprietary, i.e., each manufacturer can design them to
work as they wish. Therefore, contact your computer manufacturer.
