I already did a adware run, run the antivirus and did a boot clean and I

Windows XP Update >> error # 0x8024D00C 1. If you have any of these programs, they can affect Windows Update:-
Download Accelerator, GetRight, Browser Blaster, BitTorrent, eMule, Sygate Personal
Firewall, Norton Internet Security, Freedom Firewall, Zone Alarm Firewall

2. Check these services to make sure they are configured correctly:-
Click Start, select Run, type: services.msc
OK.
Check that "Cryptographic Services" service is set to automatic and started.
Check the service "Automatic Updates", now click on the Log On tab, ensure the option

enable it.
Click on the tab "General "; make sure the "Startup Type" is "Automatic", click the
button "Start" under "Service Status" to start the service.
Check the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) by repeating the above
steps.

3. Try renaming the SoftwareDistribution folder (there may be corrupted files)

Click Start, Choose Run.
In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Click Stop.
Stopping the service will take a moment.
