Windows XP >> MS update question - slow computer I know that the MS patches/updates should be installed on a computer
but is there any case when they shouldn't be installed?

I ask because one of my relatives wants me to install the patches on
their computer but I'm not sure they should be installed. The computer
is Win XP Home, 2.4 GHz and 128MB RAM. Needless to say, the computer
is painfully slow and especially with programs running like the
anti-virus, firewall, and AOL. They plan on getting more memory but
this might not be for another 2-4 months or so. I'm not sure if I
should wait til then to install the patches or not. Any advice?

Windows XP >> MS update question - slow computer Add more RAM to it! 128MB of RAM is not enough memory, eventhough it is the
minimum requirements. 256MB of RAM should make the system respond better
and 512MB should make the system a "speed demon"
