Crucial RAM from Crucial or NewEgg?
Windows XP1071
This memory module CT32M64S4D7E is available from Crucial directly for $68.39 (on sale) and from NewEgg for $57.00. NewEgg lists it as OEM. What makes a memory module OEM anyway? Is this the same exact module? Any reason not to get it from NewEgg and save $? - |

Re:Crucial RAM from Crucial or NewEgg?
Crucial has a lifetime warranty when you purchase the RAM through their web
site. If packaging is not important and the memory sticks come in just an anti-stat bag and not a container, then buy from the third-party seller for the lower price. How one buys should fit into one's needs at the particular time, all product operating issues being equal. - |

Crucial RAM is guaranteed for life if it is chosen from a selection after
you have utilized the RAM configurator on their web page. If you don't use any of the recommended RAM, and freelance your choice, you get a standard warrantee (whatever it may be). -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User Quote from George Ankner: If you knew as much as you think you know, You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew! Re:Crucial RAM from Crucial or NewEgg?
The module in question CT32M64S4D7E is one of the modules that is listed
by the RAM configurator tool on the Crucial web page as compatible with my computer when I run the Crucial Scan on my computer. So I'm not "freelancing my choice". I'm choosing a module they are saying is compatible. I'm simply wanting to save $11 by buying that module from NewEgg instead of directly from Crucial. Silly eh? Re:Crucial RAM from Crucial or NewEgg?
The only way to know if the lifetime warranty is applicable to RAM you buy
through a 3rd party is to ask the manufacturer. Off hand, I would say NO! If you deny them of the profit by purchasing elsewhere, why should they honor it? If I were in their position, I wouldn't. -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User Quote from George Ankner: If you knew as much as you think you know, You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew!
