Windows XP Hardware >> NVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200 I just got Windows XP Pro, and don't know much about it.
I installed my NVidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 and it took
its "plug and play" settings of 32 bit instead of 128. I
downloaded the driver from the NVidia website and clicked
to install and restarted my computer but it still has the
32 bit settings instead of the options it should have. It
is using the XP Pro's driver instead of the downloaded
driver. What should I do?!

Thank You,
Bryan

Windows XP Hardware >> NVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200 I can't be 128 Bit color. It most likely a 128MB card. 32Bit color is as
high as it goes.

Windows XP Hardware >> NVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200 You would need to install the motherboard chipset drivers. The standard AGP
port drivers in XP are limited and will give you only minimum settings.

Depending on your motherboard, the two most popular chipset drivers are
Intel and VIA. You will need to look up on your motherboard manufacturer's
web site to see which you would need.

Also, if it turns out that your motherboard is based on an Intel chipset,
then you may have this problem with the software Intel Application
Accelerator. This package is used to provide the high speed access to the
hard drive(s). There is a known problem and download the latest version
from Intel's web site.
