Can't delete this value from registry, HELP!

Windows XP Support >> Can't delete this value from registry, HELP! OK,

I've got this totally weird problem. I get the following error message
when I boot my laptop.

Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvCpl.dll The specified module
could not be found.

I know this is the NVidia Control Panel. Problem is, I have no Nvidia
card on my computer. When I try and delete the corresponding registry
key,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and delete the entry

NvCplDaemon] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup

it will delete, but as soon as I re-start it's back and I get the error
message.

There is no Nvidia driver in the add/remove programs. I've also tried
using Hijack This to remove the key and the same thing it mysteriously
re-appears. I tried removing it in Safe mode and after the second
re-boot it's back?

Any suggestions, I'm totally stumped. BTW there were Nvidia drivers on
this system at one time, but have since been deleted.

and you installed a different video card , is this
correct ? if so , Then you didn't remove the old card
properly , You need to uninstall the card that you are
using now and make sure you completely remove that card
and then install the old ( nvidia ) card back , once its
back then you need to uninstall it completely your old ,
make you you remove it the correct way , then afterward
add your new card back

Sony uses the same image on their entire line of systems in a
particular series. Some of the higher end models in the series I have
do have a Nvidia card but not mine

is this is a Sony notebook with integrated graphics. Some of the
higher end models in this series do have a Nvida GeForce card. What
I'm assuming Sony does is they used the same image on the entire line
in this series. When I was in the add/remove section removing 90% of
the garbage pre-installed software on the computer, I saw the Nvidia
Driver. I deleted it since there wasn't a card on this and now I have
the problems.

any suggestions?
