Windows XP Network >> File sharing problems I'm running a small wireless home network and I'm having a few problems.
Both computers are fully updated, running XP home sp2, all the firewalls are
configuered correctly my intenet connection is fine and the shared printer
operates fine. My problem lies in file sharing. I can access files from my
laptop that are stored on my desktop, but not very quickly. The other way
round it hardly works at all, if ever.
I think the problem may lie with egistery entries? I think the problem
started when I had to re-setup the network.

Any help really appreciated

Windows XP590

Windows XP Network >> File sharing problems Hi
Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,
http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html
As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what is allowed
to be shared.

Jonny,

One of the most common causes of your problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this
article with an open mind.

We can probably help you better if you provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig
/all" from each computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article,
and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):
