Windows XP >> file format My computer used to show my photos in jpeg format, but
after my partner loaded a kitchen design package on it's
now showing the photos in BMP format- making it larger to
email. Also when I burn these photos they will ot play
on my DVD player as they are not jpeg format ( the old
ones used to play). I cant work out how to change the
file type back on my system to jpeg - any help ??

Windows XP >> file format lorna,

computer will open both jpg and bmp files just the same. definitely, a bmp
file will stay that way until it is converted to jpg or vice versa.

i don't think the kitchen design package has something to do with files
being in jpg or bmp.

on the other hand, if you mean that when you try to save pictures off the
net through your browser and when you try to save it, the only option is bmp
format, try to clean up your temporary internet folder. this usually helps.

regards!

Windows XP >> file format If your photo files were in JPG format, they still are. I suspect that your
photos are in TWO formats, JPG and BMP. Just make sure you select the JPG
version the next time you insert one into your email.

No, your computer shows your photos in whatever format they were
saved in. You need to look at whatever program you are saving the
photos with, and make appropriate changes there.
