Windows XP >> Xp professional ,administrator I have been using the 'Administrato'r as the User Account since installing
the program. The program has now decided not to allow me to copy anything to
CD with out the approval of the 'Administrator'. Odd because there were no
User Accounts set up. I have now set up a user account, but now I carn't find
my data/documents/emails which I created for the last year under
'Administrator'.
How do I access the information previously saved under 'Administrator
Account'?
How do I set up the Account to allow me to copy to CDs without Administrator
approval?
Thanks

Your administrator data files can only be accessed if you log in as an
administrator unless the new account also has admin privileges. The
files are generally here:

C:\Documents and Settings\ADMINISTRATOR\My Documents

As to writing to CDs using anyone on that machine, depends on what
software you are using. If you are using Roxio then it should ask you
at the time of installation but it is normally automatic in EMC7.

In NERO 06 you wll need to download a file to do it for you:

What you need to do is copy the files and folders from this
location,
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator
into this location
C:\Documents and Settings\YourAccount

Since you can't use either the Administrator account or you new
account to perform this procedure, you'll have to create a
third account that is a Computer Administrator. You'll delete
this account once you've recovered your files.

Once you've created the new admin account you can log on with
that account and copy the contents of the first folder I listed
above into the second folder.

Here are a couple of web sites with more info:

Windows XP >> Xp professional ,administrator Hi Gordon
I'm using 'Outloog Express'
Got cheesed off with the computer and changed from 'administrator' to new
user 'fred'. All 'fred's' emails are there but where did all my previous ones
go under the 'administrator' user.
I have been told that it is a major job to get rid of the 'user sign on'
function because I have been using it for some time. True?
Once I am shown where to find my previous emails and address book I will
have everything saved.
I might just pay to have the whole thing reformated. There is only so much
one can take from the computer before one is tempted to throw it out the
window.
