Windows XP Perform Maintain >> CD RW is being read as READ Only MY CDRW disks are being read by my computer as read only
disks. I had this problem once before on my previous
computer and I installed DirectCD and that seemed to fix
the problem. However, I installed directcd and got the
error message that the program was unstable and it wasn't
recommended to be used with XP.

What can I do to be able to use my CDRW's properly - ie,
add, delete, etc?

Thanks,

Colleen

Windows XP Perform Maintain >> CD RW is being read as READ Only Hi,

Use InCD. For DirectCD, you need version 5 or above.

Windows XP Perform Maintain >> CD RW is being read as READ Only I had a similar problem when I upgraded from 98 to XP. By CD writer became
a reader. In my case the fix was to UN-install all of Easy CD Creator and
install version 5 plus patches. The Direct CD that came with version 5
(plus patches to about 5.3.5) works fine on XP. Versions 4 and lower of
Easy CD Creator (or associated Direct CD) have no hope of working with XP.
I now have version 6 and that works well under XP, for both CD writing and
DVD writing.
