Hi,

I've got a project where I have this Document Library called "Resources".

Each resource has some attributes, like Name, Category, Price, Department, etc.

I've created some new columns with the names "Price" and "Department".

Price's type is "Currency" and Department's is "Choice".

I've added some choices to Department, like: Marketing, Sales, etc.

Now I want to create a Content Query Webpart that has a filter in which it only shows "The Resources for the Marketing Department".

The sad thing is that when you add a column, it doesn't appear in the Content Query Additional Filters, it only shows the original ones.

I've read this article
http://www.hide-link.com/

but I couldn't make it work. :-(

To make things easier, I did not use the type "Choice", I created a column named "Test" (type: text) and tried to add it to the Content Query like the tutorial said, but when I tried to import the .webpart, the following error occurred:

"The file you imported is not valid. Verify that the file is a Web Part description file (*.webpart or .dwp) and that it contains well-formed XML."

So if anyone could help me out adding custom columns to the content query webpart, so I can filter them, I'd really appreciate it!
Thank you!

Hi,

the error you receive means that there's soomething wrong in your xml file.

Be sure to check the syntax of the xml files you chance ... xsl is very sensitive ... don't forget closing tags, case sensitive, ...
