Windows XP Network >> direct cable connection My suggestion is to purchase an external hard drive - It
is easy to back up and restore, and much better to back up
large files to.

Windows XP Network >> direct cable connection I run a server, have 4 systems hoked onto a LAN. Recently
won a notebook running Windows 98 S.E. and am trying to
use a direct parralell connection from LPT1 to my Servers
LPT1 port. To no avail....I do know in answeer to your
questionm if you simpy have two computers, and are
runnning anything from Win2kPro up to Windows Server
2003m, and ONLY have TWO systems, the best way to tie
them together is through a Cat5 Crossover....you'll have
to install different protocols, like SPX/IPX to share
local files and such, but I was hoping someone could help
me out with my direct parralell connection from a Windows
XP Pro system, to a Windows 98 S.E. Notebook. Any help
would be appreciated....I am A+/Net+ and working on my
MCSE......Is it the OS (98)? Email me ack at
EMail@HideDomain.com PLEASE!

Either that or get a pair of 1000Mbps Ethernet cards, such
as Intel's "PRO/1000 MT desktop" adapters.
