Windows XP >> wake on lan Every time the phone rings the computer come on, because
the modem is in the same phone line as the phone. I have
an internal modem so i cant just turn it off. I have
turned off 'wake on lan' in the bios but it still come on
when the phone rings.

"Wake on LAN" is just that. A power-on when the LAN is contacted.

There is another setting, and nomemclature depends on the BIOS, which is
for "Wake on Ring" or something like that.

Look more carefully for a BIOS setting associated with modem/phone.
