Windows XP Security >> Cannot Access a Workgroup PC but that PC can access all the others 1 of my PCs (5 on a LAN running Workgroup) can be seen (using View Workgroup
Computers in Network Tasks) but cannot access by any of the other 4 PCs.
Error returned as follows;

\\Kerrylt is not accessible. You might not have permissions to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you
have access permissions. Access denied.

I have set shared permissions on hard drive and mydocuments - disabled
Norton firewall, but still no luck. From \\Kerrylt I can access all of the
other PCs to share resources. Any ideas?

Windows XP Security >> Cannot Access a Workgroup PC but that PC can access all the others Hi

I have just found your entry and wondered if you got a solution. I am having
the same problem with XP Home with only 2 PCs. Another oddie is that one of
the PCs can ping the other, but not the other way round.

Windows XP Security >> Cannot Access a Workgroup PC but that PC can access all the others I just got through fixing a similar problem with a small network, some
XP Pro and some XP Home machines. Apparently the network software
can get corrupted pretty easily. This web site has a lot of good background
info and it gave me a solution: install NetBEUI. See if you can use it.
