Windows XP Network >> RPC Alex;
First, IMMEDIATELY disconnect from the internet before a "friend"
leaves a gift on your computer for you.
DO NOT reconnect until this issue is resolved.

Install or enable a firewall immediately.

Run an updated virus scan.
Or Scan for Viruses online:

Also be sure to update immediately to prevent this in the future:

Install ALL Critical updates.

You can download this patch from the Windows Update catalog:

Search for "823980"

Windows XP Network >> RPC I'd like to know why people keep asking the same question over
and over again, even in the same thread where some very patient
helpers keep posting essentially the same answer over and over
as well.

How come? What sense does it make to write, but not read?
