While online it keeps on disconnecting. There is no specific time period.
Everything worked fine until 2months ago.I made no changes to the computer

again.I even used another computer with no improvements. My service provider
says everything seems fine on their side and the landline compony (TELKOM).
Any help on this problem?

does'nt flicker or turn off at all. It started yesterday for no known
reason. I ran a scan disc and everything is fine. The computer runs fine
and there isn't any other problems, but this thing with the light is driving
me nuts! Should I try a system restore? Any help would be appreciated!!

- Windows XP Network >> 2 XP PCs on network see via the cmmd prompt, but not over Windows. Here is the deal:
I have two PC's. One has XP home, the other XP home Media Center Edition
(MCE). I have them connected to a Netgear Router, which goes to the Cable
Modem. A printer is attached to one PC.
My problem is I have one-way visibility. The PC with XP Home MCE can access
everything on the PC with XP Home. But not the other way. The PC with XP
Home does not see anything on the PC with XP Home MCE. Also, only the PC
with XP Home gets listed as a workgroup computer.
From the command prompt, I can Ping both ways.
Also, I ran Net View from the command prompt. I was able to see everything
(both ways) that I set up to share on both PC's, including the printer.
How do I fix my Win network to see both ways?
Any help is hugely appreciated!!!

- Windows XP Hardware >> Computer freezes occasionallyHi,
One of the PCs here has recently developed this rather mystifying habit of
freezing sometimes.
It happens randomly and lasts for about ten seconds or so. Also, it can
happen anywhere from a few times within an hour to a few times in a day. And
it happens no matter what the application running on the machine at that
time. It was observed that even the screensaver freezes!
Virus, malware, trojans, spyware, adware...... were checked for. Also SFC
/scannow was run without any problems. So was chkdsk /r.
The hard drive was swapped with its "mirror" (a simple restoring the
standard back-up to a fresh drive) - the phenomenon still persisted. The
memory was swapped out too, to no avail.
Occasionally a clicking noise can be heard, like that of a hard drive
"waking up". This happened on both the original drive as well as the
replacement one. Motherboard power and drive time-out settings are selected
properly.
Someone suggested replacing the power supply.
Any suggestions on what to look for very much welcome.
Regards and thanks in anticipation.

- Windows XP Update >> Two questions1. I recently had a user get a virus so I checked (among other things) their
Auto Update setting and found that AU was off. So, decided to check rest of
workstations on network and found AU was on. BUT, decided to go check
manually on Update site and received anywhere from 2 to 6 updates eventho AU
was ON. Any ideas ?
2. If AU setting is to download at a time when computer is off, will it
"catch up" when computer is turned on ??

- Windows XP Network >> Peer to peer wireless networking without routerHi,
We have two DELL laptops and both of them have functional wireless network
card.
Is it possible to do peer to peer wireless networking with this two laptops?
I have done the similar thing by connecting two laptops with a cross over

card.
Any help would be appreciated,

Probably ignore it.
Type in Start Run
cookies
To clear ALL properly
Start - Control Panel - Internet Options - Delete Cookies
Many web sites will forget who you are and may require a password to =
access.
PCDoctor sounds like a scam.

Windows XP Perform Maintain >> Have infected cookie files
PC Doctor is a rip-off. You can easily remove cookies by launching
Internet Explorer and from the Toolbar select:
Tools > Internet Options > Delete Cookies
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Download Ad-Aware 6.0 and scan your PC for the presence of spyware:

Note: Be sure to click on the "Check for updates now" link before scanning.

- Windows XP Security >> XCACLS causes error in permissionsAfter using xcacls from the resource kit to change permissions on a
folder and its contents, explorer reports an error on the permissions.
This happens in XP as well as Win2000.
[Xcacls should be the same as cacls, with the exception of an added
"/Y" switch to make it easier to use from a batch file].
What I did was grant access to one account, and revoke (deny) it for
another:
xcacls <path> /T /E /G User1:F /Y
xcacls <path> /T /E /D User2 /Y
After executing these commands through wshShell.Run in a script,
opening the security tab in the folder's properties (or any item
within it) causes this message to appear:
The permissions on <name> are incorrectly ordered, which may cause
some entries to be ineffective. Press OK to continue and sort the
permissions correctly, or Cancel to reset the permissions.
Clicking OK or Cancel >>seems<< to do what the message says, but the
changes aren't saved when the properties dialog is closed: the same
error reappears the next time the security tab is opened.

- Windows XP Support >> What's the best synchronization software? What's the best synchronization software?
Hi all,
I have a working directory at work on my office PC. And I some times do work
at home at my home PC. And I also keep a copy on my laptop. Due to company
policies, I have to use USB drive to copy and paste from one computer to
another. I keep adding/deleting/modifying files on these three computers and
the directories are now a mess. I lost track about which PC keeps which
version of my work and when the files get more and more the whole situation
becomes a nightmare.
Could anybody recommend a good and effective sync software to handle these
things, esp. the sync through the USB drive? I assume the software should
not only copy and paste, but also resolve the conflicts by merging and
asking me to decide how to merge or discard files/changes.
I need the best sync software to boost my productivity. Thanks a lot!

- Windows XP >> Unexpected Outgoing eMailOccasionally, when I send/receive email, I notice that my antivirus software
appears to be scanning an extra outgoing email. This is particularly
evident when I know that I am only sending one email, but I can see scanning
indicated for 1 of 2, and 2 of 2. On checking my "sent" folder, there is no
evidence of an extra email, and I know that I have not replied to an email
within a folder other than my inbox where replies would be stored. I have
set my options to never send a receipt for incoming email. Interestingly,
this never seems to happen when my outbox is empty before I send/receive.
My configuration is Windows XP Pro, Office XP (I never use Outlook Express
for email), Norton System Works 2003 with Personal Firewall, and a D-Link
firewall. I update software daily, run an antivirus scan daily, and update
D-Link firmware monthly. I also run AdAware, SpyBot, and SpySweeper weekly.
Advice? Is there undetected spy ware? Is NSW erroneously reporting the
number of outgoing messages being scanned? Help!
