Windows XP Security >> How to access user accounts I had a disk crash (MBR failure). I have a new disk now and re-installe
Windows XP Home and used a copy facility to transfer the accounts fro
the old disk. 2 of the accounts had password protection (I know th
passwords). I can see all the files from the protected directories bu
can't open any of them and get the error message

"The file is in use
This file is currently in use. Close the file, and then try to perfor
the desired action again.

Error ID = 0x80070005, Remedy ID = 0x00000000"

Is there any way of modifying the registry to allow access to thes
files?

Help much apprciated

In use is weird.. Usually access denied..
Log in as an administrative user and take ownership of the files..
