Windows XP >> Little Help Hey all,

Little problem i'm running into is the amount of time it takes from the
desktop to when I can dial out.
From boot to desktop is pretty quick, but I have to wait to dial out. My
system almost freezes until my norton firewall appears then I can go.
I have an amd 2400+, 512 mb ram, sympatico hs.
I have the network card set manually.
Running norton systemworks 2003 and personal firewall.
I've shut off quite a few services in msconfig.

Me going nuts

Steve

Windows XP >> Little Help Hi Steve,

It sounds like your Network card (NIC) is experiencing DHCP
issues when trying to acquire a lease for a local IP. Lets check
your Events log in Control Panel / Administrative Tools for any
DHCP warnings or errors. If you find any let me know, and we'll
assign a static IP to your NIC and put a stop those lockups. :-)

Windows XP >> Little Help Okay Steve,

Thank you for your response. If it was my system,
I would try uninstalling the Norton's products offline
to see if they are major contributors to problem.
